Daughter, wife and mother of two and becoming a carer for my mum.
I have lived, studied and worked in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire since the age of three. I love the city and the surrounding areas, and the sense of community and spirit of working together for the greater good.
I have always been invested in my own continuous learning, personal growth and helping others do the same. My core values and intuition are my compass.
My experience spans over two decades in the private and public sectors, where I have led award-winning teams. During my career in marketing and communications I have held various senior leadership roles within FMCG, Local Government and Higher Education.
I make time to connect and work in partnership with an extensive network of professional bodies locally, regionally and nationally. I have served on various boards including, Vice Chair on the regional board for the Chartered Institute of Marketing, executive committee member with Local Government Communications, Government Communications Service and trustee with the board of Nottingham City of Literature.
I speak fluent Punjabi and Hindi.
My passion for continuous learning has earned me professional qualifications from the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University and I have come full circle where I am now working at the very university I graduated from. I remain committed to my professional development as a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and member of the Association of Coaching.
I have been coaching informally and formally, invested time in CPD and supervision for over ten years.
I have delivered professional marketing training to small and medium sized businesses on behalf of the CIM and taught postgraduate students within higher education. I have provided group coaching and mentoring sessions for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
I have also invested in myself and I know first hand the positive impact of coaching. In 2023 I was awarded a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' - for me this was recognition for all the amazing people I have worked with and who have mentored me throughout my own career.
When I am not working (which does not feel like working by the way), I love nature walks, cooking, reading, meditation, the joy of music and spending time with my family and friends.
It gives me joy to witness the magic when my clients unlock their full potential and move closer towards their goals.
Many of us are often busy juggling professional working life with our personal and home life. At work we are accustomed to setting visions, developing strategies and action plans and celebrating the wins when things go well - as well as taking the time to reflect and learn when they don't.
But how many of us do this for ourselves?
Since becoming a certified coach and mentor in 2015 (with the Institute of Leadership and Management) I have been struck by the transformative power of coaching to enhance performance and change lives by guiding individuals to reach their full potential.
